Four-Year "Value Added" Accreditation Received July, 2005, The Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) announced the four-year term of accreditation of Easter Seals UCP North Carolina. The Council on Quality and Leadership, recommended that Easter Seals UCP North Carolina receive a four-year “Value-Added” accreditation status. This recommendation validates the organization’s commitment to the individuals and families to whom we provide services and supports. Further, it is testament to the commitment of our staff to remain responsive to those women and men, children and families who choose Easter Seals UCP North Carolina as their service provider. The philosophy of The Council’s activities and accreditation is based on Personal Outcomes. Personal Outcomes are Person-Centered Solutions that work to keep people safe; offer people choice; and, direct dollars wisely. Easter Seals UCP embraces this philosophy of supporting individuals with disabilities and their families to achieve the goals they define as most important to them. The Council’s four-year Value-Added accreditation recommendation followed a week-long review by seven Quality Consultants, who worked with Easter Seals UCP staff throughout North Carolina. The Council on Quality and Leadership is a nationally recognized accreditation organization that provides accreditation, monitoring, evaluation, training, and consultation to human service organizations. Known as “The Council”, the organization is at the forefront of the movement to create opportunities for people to lead the lives they choose and to improve the quality of services and supports for people with disabilities and mental illness. For more than 30 years, The Council has worked to implement person-centered solutions for service and support organizations, state and national government agencies, regional systems and networks, and professionals and self-advocates. The Council is dedicated to ensuring that people with disabilities and mental illness have full and abundant lives.
