Easter Seals UCP North Carolina Virginia logo Easter Seals UCP North Carolina & Easter Seals Virginia Merge

A merger agreement between Easter Seals Virginia and Easter Seals UCP North Carolina became official on October 1, 2009, when Easter Seals UCP CEO and President Mr. C.L. Cochran became President and CEO of Easter Seals UCP North Carolina & Virginia.   Leaders of the North Carolina and Virginia non-profits felt strongly that the merger would support expansion and diversification of services for individuals and families affected by disabilities, as well as create economies of scale for the newly merged organization.

Easter Seals UCP North Carolina and Virginia offers a wide variety of services to Virginia residents.  Each year, hundreds of individuals living with disabilities and their families rely on the organization for high quality, individualized services.  Among the services offered are early childhood intervention; AgrAbility a direct education and on-site assessment for farmers with disabilities; Project SUCCESS - an inclusive, participant lead program that provides youth with and without disabilities the opportunity to participate in service learning; Lekotek a play-based program utilizing interactive and inclusive play experiences for children with special needs; and Camp Easter Seals, which provides quality residential camping experiences for children and adults with disabilities.

Easter Seals UCP North Carolina and Virginia is headquartered in Raleigh, NC and has administrative and program offices located in Richmond and Salem, Virginia.  Camp Easter Seals is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of New Castle, Virginia.
